Early Years Calmology

Early Years Calmology is a gentle, joyful introduction to mindfulness for pre-toddlers and toddlers. Blending calming touch, simple movement, and music, each session creates a soothing yet playful experience designed especially for little ones.

This nurturing approach helps children feel safe, connected, and supported, all while staying close to a parent or caregiver. Together, you’ll share moments of calm, connection, and enjoyment.

Becoming a Certified Early Years Calmology Practitioner

Becoming a Calmology Early Years Practitioner involves gentle, accessible training designed for parents, carers, and early years professionals alike. You’ll learn how to combine calming touch, simple movement, and music in a safe, child-centred way, with a strong focus on connection, emotional regulation, and play. The training builds confidence step by step, with no previous experience required, and equips you to share Calmology sessions that nurture calm, bonding, and joy for young children and their caregivers.

Your Training Journey..
Part One

The first part of the course is theory based and is completed through our Online Module, which you’ll finish before attending the in-person, one-day training.

The online module includes a series of pre-recorded videos that you can complete at your own pace. These provide a strong foundation and cover key topics such as the developmental stages of toddlers, sensory development including;

  • Tactile – touch; learning through hands-on exploration and physical contact

  • Vestibular – balance and movement; developed through rocking, spinning, climbing, and changes in position

  • Proprioceptive – body awareness; understanding where the body is in space through pushing, pulling, squeezing, and movement

  • Visual – sight; tracking movement, recognising faces, shapes, and colours

  • Auditory – hearing; listening to sounds, rhythm, music, and developing speech awareness

as well as language development, movement and coordination, and early social development.

This prepares you to attend the practical training day feeling confident, informed, and ready to engage.

In-Person Training..
Part Two

Your in-person training day is led by our experienced dance and movement specialist. During the day, you’ll learn how to confidently deliver Calmology sessions for toddlers using a clear, week-by-week class structure. Each week follows a thoughtfully chosen theme, designed around the developmental needs of toddlers.

You’ll be introduced to our bespoke Calmology music, created especially for each session, alongside beautifully illustrated flashcards that support the calming touch elements of the practice. These are paired with carefully crafted movement sequences that keep toddlers engaged, supported, and having fun.

The classes are designed with flexibility at their heart. Children are always given choice—whether that’s joining in with the higher-energy music and movement or enjoying quieter moments through calming touch and connection. This ensures every child can participate in a way that feels right for them.
